According to the local edition of the Chunichi News Paper, Takayama City Office is spending our money training the so-called “Monkey Dog”, which appears to chase away local wild monkeys from the semi-abandoned fields of local elderly farmers.
That is to say, the local Japanese monkeys have been ruining farmers’ crops recently; therefore Takayama City Office allocates funds to train some local private owners’ hunting dogs to chase away bad monkeys.
Actually, as in your country, the younger generations have been abandoning their native mountainous fields, so only elderly people are left there, and bad wild animals have started ruining elderly people's harvest.
Is it a sort of revenge from nature?
Anyway, the point is money: Takayama City spent $10,300 for 4 dogs to be trained for 5 months, at the dog training facility in neighboring Nagano Pref.
And, Takayama City Office is going to spend $32,000 for 10 dogs’ training in the next fiscal year budget.
It’s too expensive, isn’t it? Who is going to benefit from this stupid budget?
Is this grant for the local hunting dogs’ owners? Everybody wants money, don’t they? Anyway now, all the Japanese have lost their mental stability, owing to our long economic depression. We are all paralyzed now in Hida Takayama, including me.
By the way, Japanese local monkeys bathe in a hot spa. Actually, I wonder whether wild monkeys catch a cold or not. Though they are covered by fur, I have never seen wild monkeys wipe their soaked bodies with towels, after bathing in the hot spring.
I would like to make sure of one thing, there appears to be a hot spring in Japan where wild monkeys freely bathe. If you want to look at a picture of the bathing monkeys, please go to [EICネット]
